Yes, completing an Ministry (MTO) approved BDE course can help lower your car insurance premiums. Most insurance companies, like TD and Belairdirect, offer a discount to drivers who have completed certified driver education. You can also request a Driver’s Licence History (DLH) record from Service Ontario to provide proof of completion. As per our recommendations the savings are worth the cost over the years.
Yes. Our cars have dual-brake system, this means that the instructor has option to stop the car when needed and can step in and control the car. All vehicles are clean, regularly maintained, and fully insured. This ensures a safe, comfortable, and stress-free learning experience for every student.
Ottawa has several excellent areas to practice driving, especially for G2 and road test preparation. Many students start in quiet residential neighborhoods before progressing to busier roads. Common practice areas include testing routes near official DriveTest centres like Walkley and Canotek.

You have 12 months from the start date to complete all parts of the course, including online theory, in-car training, and homework. Most students finish within 4 to 6 weeks, but the extended timeline allows for flexibility.
Apart from the incredibly high first-attempt passing rates of our students, taking the full Driver’s Ed (BDE) course from Steer’nGo gives you the opportunity to:

- Potentially qualify for insurance discounts, as the course not only teaches safe driving skills but may also reduce your premiums
- Build strong defensive driving skills
- Earn an official MTO certification recognized across the province
Once you have completed both the in-class and in-vehicle training, Steer’nGo will certify you in the Ministry of Transportation system. You can then request a Driver’s License History (DLH) from Service Ontario, which serves as proof that you have successfully completed the course.

A G2 licence lets you drive on your own anywhere in Ontario, including highways, but you must follow specific rules. You’re required to have a zero blood alcohol level and make sure every passenger has a working seatbelt. If you’re 19 or younger, you can carry only one passenger under 19 between midnight and 5 a.m. for the first six months, and up to three after that. These limits don’t apply if you’re driving with a fully licensed driver or if the passengers are immediate family.
If you’re a G2 driver under 20, there are specific passenger limits between midnight and 5 a.m. During your first six months, you can carry only one passenger who is 19 or younger. After six months, that number increases to a maximum of three passengers under 20 during those late-night hours. These limits don’t apply if you’re driving with a fully licensed driver who has at least four years of experience or if your passengers are immediate family members.
