Frequently Asked Questions
Our online course consists of the same criteria and information that is provided in any regular in-class course. The online course is 100% the same as the regular one which the ministry approved now as a new way of teaching the BDE in-class course. However, the in-car portion of the course will still have to be booked with an instructor. The Course consists of:
- 20 hours online of theory lessons
- 10 hours of online homework questions to answer
- 10 hours of in car one-on-one lessons
Yes, it will.
Yes, of course. Our in-class, and online course are both MTO approved and provide the same information to the students.
You do not need to have your G1 to start your online course, however, your in-car lessons will have to wait until you have your G1.
The course lasts for one year from the date that you first register. This goes for both the online and in-class course.
Yes, the online course does not differ from the in class course at all. It teaches the same theories, the same laws, everything is the same. The only difference being that with the online course, you can work at your own pace rather than having to go into class in a set date and time and setting.
- You can work anywhere and anytime.
- You have 1 year to get 30 hours of work done.
- Get 75% of the course done from the comfort of your own home.
- A great opportunity to gain driving knowledge and prepare your self for your in-car lesson.
When you pass your G1 exit driving test and get your G2, you’ll have fewer driving restrictions. With a G2 licence, you can drive anywhere, day or night, alone or with passengers on any road or highway in Ontario. However, there are still conditions that must be honoured. You must only drive when:
- Your blood alcohol level is zero
- Your passengers do not exceed the number of working seatbelts within your vehicle
- If you’re a G2 licensed driver aged 19 or under there are passenger restrictions you need to adhere to when driving between midnight and 5 a.m.
When driving between the hours of midnight and 5 a.m., G2 drivers aged 19 and under are permitted just one passenger in the car who is under the age of 20, within the first six months of having your G2 licence. After six months, you may have up to three passengers aged 19 or under in your car. This restriction will not apply if there is a full G licensed person with four years of driving experience accompanying the G2 driver sitting in the front seat of the vehicle. It also does not apply if the other passengers are members of your immediate family.
